In other news, I started afs2sl.pl running on ronald-ann, so we can
watch the new fileserver via syslogs. This is mostly as described in
[1452], except it runs from /usr/local/bin, and will get started from
rc.local. It syslogs to facility local4 on charon, which writes to
/usr/adm/afs2sl.log (on charon, obviously) and via Zephyr to anyone
who wants to add themselves to charon's /etc/nsyslog.conf. Everything
is sent at priority info except for "VAttachVolume: Cannot read volume
header" messages which are sent at priority debug. Examples:
Aug 7 02:33:02 RONALD-ANN.MIT.EDU afs2sl[22591]: File Server started Sat Aug 6 23:32:00 1994
Aug 7 02:33:02 RONALD-ANN.MIT.EDU afs2sl[22591]: CB: RCallBack (zero fid probe in host.c) failed for host milquetoast.mit.edu (port 7001)
If it's necessary to shut this off, login to ronald-ann as root and
kill the "perl /usr/local/bin/afs2sl.pl" process.
