ORDER OF ASSEMBLY
BY THE LORD CHANCELLOR OF LAGARETH
On this, the Seventeenth day of February in the One Hundred and Fourth
year of Our King Daris, this Proclamation is made. Whilst His Most
Divine and Royal Majesty King Daris has been gone on a mission of
Extreme Urgency for nearly three weeks, the foul minions of the Empire
of Miyosha have chosen this time of weakness to attack the sovereign
Kingdom of Lagareth. Whereas it is the Duty of the Nobles of this
Kingdom to preserve and protect it under the Command of the King, it
is even more important that in His absence, the Dukes and other nobles
work together to defend the honest people of Lagareth, lest the shadow
of imperial tyranny, thought banished forever more, return again to
the Outer Kingdoms.
So then it is fortunate that so many of the great Dukes and Lords of
the kingdom are already present in Giron, for where such a
concentration of the Kingdom's leaders are gathered surely no foreign
invader can prevail. Yet, should Giron fall, then would also most of
the Kingdom; surely, never did Lagareth face a more serious trial,
made all the more dangerous for the lack of His Divine Majesty.
Therefore, it is ordered that all Nobles of the Kingdom currently
present in the besieged city of Giron gather at the King's Great Hall
this evening, by the sixth stroke of the hour, to discuss the formation
of a War Council and more efficiently direct those troops currently
defending the walls of the City. To provide guidance and knowledge in
this endeavor, the presence of the leaders of the Church of Daris and
of any mages still remaining in the Capitol is requested. Furthermore,
those foreign Lords and Ambassadors who have come to visit us in this
time of need are invited to attend this Meeting as well; for should the
great Kingdom of Lagareth fall to the Miyoshan troops, it may well not
be the only kingdom to perish.
