This is a long message, but useful. (Apologies if I sent it twice; I'm not
sure.)

RULES CLARIFICATIONS & MODIFICATIONS

(not yet in the on-line rules file, but probably will be tomorrow)

If you are stunned by losing a martial combat, you wake up 15 minutes later
with one hit point. If you are knocked unconscious after being stunned, you
still wake up 15 minutes later with one hit point.

It takes 30 minutes in a field hospital (not 15, as the rules say) to be
raised to 3 hit points. (This gives you some time to get food or
something.)

You may write things like names of players playing various characters on
your sheets without making them game items; don't write information you
obtain in game there. In general, use common sense.

If you have an item card for "A signet ring for _________", please fill in
your name there. It is recognizably yours.

If you have an item card for "A ducal (or county) seal of _________",
please fill in the duchy or county that it is the seal of. Unless you have
reason to believe otherwise, it is the holding you rule. (If you aren't
sure, ask.)

If you have the "Swordsmanship" ability, please write on it the item number
of your sword.

PLAYERLIST UPDATES

Duke Justin Armstrong of Punor is being played by Sean Ningen,
spningen@mit.edu.

Duke Davios Tharin of Ethar is being played by Alexander Duran,
amsduran@mit.edu.

Lt. Retsi Lat-Sabor is being played by Raj Shah, rshah@mit.edu.

A new, more accurate, and prettier playerlist will probably be available
tomorrow evening.

================================================================

YOU ARE PRACTICALLY ALL MISSING THINGS.

Most of those things we will have for you tomorrow evening. Stop by the
control room to pick them up.

In particular, all greensheets dealing with political power, and political
power summaries, are still missing. So are spellbooks, for those of you
that have them.

A new version of the greensheet for military commanders has been produced.
THE SIEGE MECHANIC DOES NOT BEGIN UNTIL SATURDAY. The first turn of the
siege is at 5:30pm, Saturday. If I am particularly competent, I may email
it to you soon. Otherwise, pick it up tomorrow.

Some of you have some wrong abilities. In particular, if you have an
ability that tells you to change a stat you don't understand, it's probably
the wrong ability.

Alas, the lists at the end of your character sheets are almost always
incomplete, and frequently incorrect as well. We have accurate (we think)
lists of what you should have, which we'll try to check with you when you
come see us for the rest of your stuff.

Please try to make a list of what you think you're missing, but please
*don't* send it to us. We probably know about it. When you come to talk to
us to get your stuff, do make sure we give you everything on that list.

================================================================

Unless you know otherwise, your Max HP should be equal to your Current HP
if it says 0 now.

For any ability referring to the "theta" stat: a theta of 0 is the same as
a theta of 1.

================================================================

The Royal Historical Museum will, alas, remain closed for at least a day or
two, despite the best efforts of the curator. (We figure getting you your
stuff is more important than making sure the stuff in the Museum is right.)
If you think this is going to be a particular problem for you, let us know
and we will try to deal cleverly.

================================================================

GAME AREA

is bounded by Vassar Street to the north, the Med Center to the east, Mem
Drive to the south, and a line just past the Student Center to the west.
(i.e. pretty much anywhere you'd probably want to go, except the E-5x
buildings.) An actual map of this, listing some interesting locations,
will appear tomorrow evening.

================================================================

OUTDOORS

We don't think *we* have done anything that would require you to spend time
outdoors in this game, or doing things that would look suspicious to
non-players. If you think we have, please check with us.

================================================================

WALL LOCATIONS

The Giron wall squares have locations. They will be sent by email sometime.
Probably most of you don't care, but if you do, just wait.

================================================================

I think that's all I need to announce for now.

Hope you all enjoy the game!
