This is the final GM ruling on tunnel puzzles
You, the player must actually be able to solve the puzzle for the door
to open. If you need notes to remember, so does your character.
One person in each group must be able to solve the puzzle. They may
only hide their solution from the rest of the group as much as they
can actually hide the real puzzle.
If someone in the group wants the puzzle to be done, so they can try
to learn it, it must be done, but if no one wants to see it done, it
doesn't have to be actually worked out.
If you have been through previously without knowing how to solve the
puzzle, that's fine, but now, there must be at least one person in the
group who actually knows how to solve the puzzle.
