Coast City, Antartica - In a shocking move this evening, 60%
of the United Nations Security Council (well below quorum) convened a
public meeting in which they would select a World Leader as per the
Aliens' request. Less than an hour prior to this, the meta-human
organization SHIELD arrested the Prime Minister of Australia, Ryan
Albacore for a "crime" he had committed nearly 48 hours earlier, which
he had fully admitted to fairly soon after the incident. Albacore
indicated that he believed he was taken in because of his
controversial opinion of what should be done.

Albacore's view is that the UN should let the Span, as the
aliens call their government, select a world leader, at least
temporarily, to provide for a more thorough search for world leader.

The "Security Council" that met tonight consisted of 9 of the
15 representatives that were supposed to be there. This coupled with
the fact that the EC declared that it wasn'e sending a representative
means that the "Security Council" that is meeting has no legal
authority as quorum is not being met. The aliens expressed their
concern that they didn't think that the selection process that was
happening was particularly valid, considering the lack of
representation involved.

The candidates consisted of Heinrich LaVole, the current
Secretary General of the UN and Arthur King, acting President of the
US. Mr. Roderick Drake, well-known financial genius and
philanthropist was in the running, but dropped out, fearing that he
would be killed if selected. Support for Mr. Drake still seemed very
high, as he stated that many people were urging him to get back in the
running.

That is very unlikely, however, as the President of Argentina,
Michaelangelo Montoya, who was conducting the meeting (since Mr.
LaVole is a candidate), refused to allow even Mr. LaVole to suggest
another candidate. President Montoya was running the meeting with an
iron fist, and ejected this reporter from the room without warning
upon my pointing out a fact to the audience (although many others had
made other, less damaging remarks earlier with only a gruff "you are
out of order").

I urge each and every citizen of the world to immediately
contact your government and try to get the UN to stop this behavior
and act like the great organization it is. I will do my best to keep
reports flowing, but I believe that as a result of this article I will
either be arrested by the UN or SHIELD, or killed (President Montoya
made a death threat against me earlier this week, and it is entirely
possible he will attempt to carry it out). I hope to God that this
great world of ours can get through this crisis. Peace to the world.
