Hot off the presses!! Darkstar Conference Threatened!!
Universe Today presents, as quickly as we recieved it via comsat from
Darkstar, the text spoken to the opening ceremonies at the Darkstar
Conference. Stay subscribed for more late breaking news.
Greetings, gathered members of the seven great powers. A time of
decision has come upon you all. Not because of the work of your
so-called peace-makers, but because I have decided that your current
insanity must not continue. I will not allow the pressures of
overpopulation to again destroy society as it did in the time of my
creators. I am the Caretaker. I shall insure that your current
economic crisis does not plunge the sentients of the galaxy into
the long darkness. As a demonstration of my power, I will utterly
destroy one planet from each of your great empires. When I have
finished speaking, watch the monitors before you to see their fates.
After my demonstration, you will have five days to talk amongst
yourselves. At the end of that time, you shall choose. I shall
totally destroy one of your seven cultures that the others may
live. The other six shall choose the one. Within the hour, the
ammbasadoors of the seven empires will receive electronic instructions
regarding the details of the selection process.
