You do need to update your config. (Source is in usr.sbin/config in
the current source tree.)
Our kernel tree won't necessarily build right now. You might consider
talking to Yoav (if thay can be arranged) about how to sup your own
kernel source tree, so you don't have to deal with it when we break
ours for periods of time.
Also, if you just have a 3C590, the kernel tree in
/mit/netbsd/dev/netbsd-1.1 has support for the 3C590.
