Mounting dos partitions

I'm trying to mount my dos partition on netbsd. I've run
dospart and mount (with -t msdos), but whenever I try
to ls the drive after having mounted it, my computer freezes.
I've tried several different combinations of rebooting between
dospart & mount, and also after mounting & before trying to
access the drive. Could anyone tell me how to mount my
drive? Thank you very much.
