You can get a new /usr/libexec/ld.so from
/afs/sipb.mit.edu/system/i386_nbsd1/srvd.77.1/usr/libexec/ld.so.

Add yourself to the wheel line in /etc/group and /etc/group.local.

Do "detach -L" as root the next time this happens.

I don't know why you were having keyboard and X problems under 1.1.
