What is "dual-boot loader"

Hi,
I attended first of the two IAP NetBSD classes. On the sheet that the SIPB
people have handed out, the second step require "installing the dual boot
loader". What is that for? I have two hard disks, and one of which is empty,
just waiting there ready for installing NetBSD. Therefore, I think the process
for installing NetBSD might be as follows, correct me if I am wrong:
First, set aside 150MB of my second harddisk unpartitioned for the NetBSD
Then, skip step 1 and 2 listed on the hand out, and go to step 3,4 and 5
directly
