several problems

i just switched from linux to netbsd, so i'm not too familiar with the details of netbsd. i got the new netbsd 1.1 release, and recompiled the kernel with support for X, pcvt, and the Adaptec 2940 SCSI controller.

when i built the kernel, make depend complained about the lack of the
file "aic7xxx_seq.h" file, which i can't find anywhere. the only
sources installed are the kernel sources. make doesnt complain, and
the driver seems to work fine.

also, since replacing pccons with pcvt, the terminal emulation doesn't
work very well - the meta key doesnt work in emacs for example. tset
doesnt seem to use /etc/termcap. in fact my system didnt even have a
termcap (it worked fine) until i copied it from a different system.

finally, X windows is giving me two problems. one - xterm dumps core
immediately, so the only programs i can run are xclock, xeyes,
etc... two - when i shut X down by exiting twm, the entire system
freezes and requires a hard boot.

any ideas/solutions for any of the three problems would be
welcome. btw, i'm interested in jhawk's iap seminar on netbsd. please
let me know when scheduling is worked out...

thanks, matt
