Could you define "freezes"?

Sure. I should note that when I built this kernel, I was lame
and used a preexisting build tree that had been around for
a while, so it would run faster (I promptly forgot about it
and let it sit for a day, so the gain was useless). It's possible
that there was some inconsistancy that's causing your problem,
so if this fails I'll just rebuild from scratch.

Anyway, it's in place, same as before.
