We don't recommend doing this. In general it's a poor idea to use
kernels you don't have source for and cannot easily rebuild.

If you had a kernel source tree for that kernel you could build a new
version of ps, but you don't. I'm afraid we don't either.
We expect that the afs-related shutdown-time crashes will go away
in the relatively near future, and in general we find that more
recent kernels are better. As such, while there's not a whole lot
you can do, we recommend grinning and bearing it.
