Hi. I'm not sure what's wrong with Tecplot, but we do have some
insight on the xess problem Yoav people are seeing at LCS. The
machines there look up hostnames first in lcs.mit.edu and then in
mit.edu, and there is both a ziggy.lcs.mit.edu and a ziggy.mit.edu.

The problem would go away if third-party applications could be
configured to use an FQDN to specify the license server (in
particular, ziggy.mit.edu instead of just ziggy).

Thanks.
