Hi,
I thought I'd come back to NetBSD and give it a shot after being away in
Linux-land for the past few years, so I started reinstalling on an old
machine of mine. As the subject says, I have installation problems upon
bootup -- namely I get messages to the effect of:
aha0: DMA beyond end of ISA
sd0: could not mode sense (4) -- using ficticious geometry
sd(aha:0:0): could not get size
sd0: no disklabel
Looking through the FAQ, I've figured out what the messages mean, but I
can't seem to gather just how to proceed. I've tried using pfdisk, DOS
fdisk and format to put a MBR on the HD that the installation script can
read, but that doesn't help. I thought I recalled being able to set the
disk geometry in the SIPB installer the last time I tried NetBSD: is that
option still around somewhere, or am I supposed to prepare the disk somehow
by another method?
