To whom it may concern,

I am trying to install NetBSD 1.1 and NetBSD-Athena 7.7.1 on a computer
with the 3c590 ethernet card, by following the instructions in

	/mit/netbsd/dev/machine-specific/new-drivers/README

However, during the first reboot, my machine hangs after displaying the line

	setting tty flags

The problem was discussed by Mr Novak <jjnovak@mit.edu> and Mr Greg Hudson
<ghudson@mit.edu> on this list on Wednesday, 15th May, 1996. The messages are
archived as transactions 937 and 938 of the meeting 'netbsd-help' in discuss,
at bloom-picayune.mit.edu.

Is a new kernel, with the bugs fixed, available? If not, where can I
find the patch for the 3c590 ethernet card? I know how to compile a kernel
under Linux, and I assume that doing so under NetBSD will be similar. If I
am wrong, please correct me and give me some advice on the installation.
Thank you in advance.

					Yours sincerely,
