Headers munged somewhat to reflect true origin. This should hopefully
answer, and help reduce the number of, the "What's the most recent ld.so
version, and where can I get it?" e-mails that I've been receiving.

A new ld.so package has been uploaded to ftp.debian.org and should be
available soon.
Changes in version 1.7.11:
Changed ld.so and ld-linux.so to delete all variations
of LD_PRELOAD and LD_LIBRARY_PATH for set[ug]id programs,
This makes it harder for broken set[ug]id programs to be
compromised.
Fixed a problem in libdl.so where dlsym would not accept
the handle returned from dlopen(0, *).

The "basic" distribution, retrieved from ftp.ods.com:/pub/linux, is in
linux.nrao.edu:/pub/security/ld.so. The ftp.ods.com tarfile includes
binaries, though I don't have an MD5 checksum for it on hand... --Jeff]
