Hi,

it shouldn't be necessary to run the system without the /proc filesystem.
Please try my kernel patch which should hopefully fix the problem.  The
patch is against 1.2.10 and I've sent it to Linus, but I don't know when
1.2.11 will be released...  In the meantime, try

Please test this and tell me if you see any problems or remaining holes.
