Hi,
I think it would be useful if a members of this list compiled a little
overview of Linux security problems that we have seen over the last
few years. The list is still short enough to manage and in that way we
know if we have caught up with the problems.
It would be particularly important to know if main distributions such
as slackware have replaced problematic programs.
I suggest the following format (please improve on it if you feel like
it):
Vulnerable binary: smail
Date of discovery: 10-10-94
Patched source and binaries: sunsite....
Distributions which are not patched: braam-linux
Patched distributions: slackware 1.2. (of oct 11 and later) (hopefully)
