Hi, all. I'm having trouble with my new Pentium 90 MHz system with a
NCR 53c810 PCI SCSI adaptor. I am having trouble reading from the
SCSI drive. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes the reading process
hangs (but the rest of the system is OK) and sometimes I get a Kernel
panic. The board contains resistor packs for termination and I have a
terminator on the external SCSI drive (I have disconnected the
internal cable). The kernel I'm using is v1.1.95 compiled with gcc
2.5.8 and libc 4.5.26. Board information appears below:

Board: EFE-V104
SCSI Chip:	NCR 53C810
		609-0391635
		9437S
		WR06307

Here is what happens when I read from the Seagate ST42100 drive:

% dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/zero bs=1048576 count=600
scsi0 : illegal instruction 001fa110 : 0x09000400 0x01b61800
scsi0 : DSP=0x1fa110, DCMD|DBC=0x0, DSA=0x1f9cc0
         DSPS=0x1b61800, TEMP=0x1f0978, DMODE=0x80,
o DNAD=0x1b61800
Kernel panic: mail drew@Colorado.EDU

I also get other crash messages about SCSI bus errors and scsi_reset
is a NOP (in these cases the kernel usually keeps running). I've also
tried with Kernel 1.2.0 and still have problems.
Any ideas, anyone?

When the system boots up, the following BIOS message appears:
NCR SDMS (TM) V3.0 PCI SCSI BIOS, PCI Rev: 2.0
Copyright NCR 1993, blah, blah, blah
NCRPCI-3.04.00
