From DOS and NetWare experience I can answer your question with a 
question:  do your AHA1542CF and the BusLogic 958 share the same SCSI 
chipset?  If the answer is 'no' then you'll probably experience similar 
problems.  If the answer is 'yes' then you probably won't.  Also, moving 
drive around between SCSI adapters within the same chipset family is 
usually not a problem.  It may "all be SCSI", but no two controllers are 
exactly alike.
