Hi!

I got an old disk (Seagate Barracuda4 ST15150N Rev.750A) these days,
but it seems to be broken. Kernel is 2.4.0-test5-pre6, two nrc53c8xx
controllers on Alpha NoName:

[root@air:/root] #> dd if=3D/dev/zero of=3D/dev/sdc
scsi0: ERROR on channel 0, id 2, lun 0, CDB: Read (10) 00 00 00 00 00 00 00=
 02 00
[valid=3D0] Info fld=3D0x0, Current sd08:20: sense key Medium Error
Additional sense indikates Medium format corrupted
 I/O error: dev 08:20, sector 0
dd: /dev/sdc: Input/output error
1+0 records in
0+0 records out
[root@air:/root] #>

"Medium format corrupted" -- is there any chance to low-level-format
that disk? Btw, READ CAPACITY failed as well;(

Can anyone enlighten me?

MfG, JBG
