The card was not detected. If 2.0.10 runs fine, it must (wildly guessing:-) be
the kernel. Did you include all SCSI support needed? maybe just try again.
Of course you may not compile the SCSI stuff as a module if you want to
boot from a SCSI drive. (And Adaptec as a module seems to have special
problems, from what i read.)
It could be interesting to move right up to 2.0.25 (or whatever latest) because
somewhere around 2.0.11 there must have been changes in the Adaptec driver that
caused several problems I read about; some (all?) things were fixed around
2.0.23 and .24. (Avoid .24 for X performance reasons. 25 is reported to be fine
again.)
