I don't know what is 'obsolete' but its a problem with the 2.0.x buslogic
  driver on my machine

Obsolete refers to the 1.15 driver that came stock with 1.2.13.

If you're still seeing this with 2.0.x, then I'd like to track it down and
correct it if possible. Would you try the latest driver from
http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/ and let me know if it still fails. If it does,
I'll have some further debugging tests for you to try.
