Hi,
I have got a Red Hat Linux 6.0 server. When I am trying to add a 2nd SCSI
disk (With a convertor) of Seagate make model ST34520W as id 1, the system
BIO Adaptec AIC 7880 detects both old and the new one, but Linux Kernel
doesn't. It gives
the following message:
scsi : 1 hosts
(scsi0:0:0:0) synchronous at 10 mb/sec, offset 15
Vendor: Seagate Model: xxxx Rev: xxxx
Type: xxxx ANSI SCSI Revision: xx
Detected SCSI disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0
(scsi0:0:1:0) Parity error during message-In phase
SCSI aborting due to timed out pid 9, scsi 0, channel 0, id 1, lun 0,
Test Unit ready 00 00 00 00 00
scsi host 0 abort (pid 9) timed out - resetting
scsi bus is being reset for host 0 and channel 0
scsi host 0 channel 0 reset (pid 9) timedout - trying hard
.....
.....
Kindly rectify the problem.
Thanks.
With regards,
Anand
