Can anybody please help stop my system from locking up, please. It seems to
be an impossible task.
The system is a pentium 133 with dual adaptec 2940 scsi controller cards, 6
various brands of drives (conner, fugitsu, segate) a scsi cdrom and a scsi
tape unit. After 2-3 days of running the operating system comes to a
grinding halt with the following error message being typical. The machine
then has to be rebooted manually to get it to work again. I'm using
slackware v3 and so far have tried kernels 12 (which didn't find the second
controller) 13 and 21. all these give the same results, system crash. The
entire system works perfectly under WinNT and I think that were I will be
heading because I just cant get linux to be stable! Can someone else offer
some suggestions as to what causes the error below?
