I have recently purchased a Buslogic 956C Wide SCSI controller,
  Fujitsu M1606S 1 GIG hard drive and a Sanyo CRD-256H SCSI CD-Rom
drive. Here's the rundown of my problems:

I cannot speak to how well the Fujitsu M1606S or Sanyo CRD-256H implement the
SCSI-2 protocol, but I have been using 956C's for quite some time with a number
of disks and they have worked very well. I don't recall if I ever used it with
a CD-ROM drive. If you are only going to use narrow devices, though, why are
you purchasing a Wide controller?

Have you tried using either the disk or CD-ROM drive alone on the bus? How do
you have your termination set on the 956C?

Do you have any system log messages to tell us what is happening?
