Hi,
Linux recognizes my SCSI adapter and devices, but is unable to
access the disk without SCSI errors.
I'm trying to install Slackware Linux (1.0.9 ?) onto my WYSE 486,
Adaptec 1540B system. Am I right when Linux only supports Rev. C on
the Adaptec 1540 board (As of SCSI-HOWTO 2.21) ?
I'm using the scsi bootkernel, as mentioned above, linux senses both
the host adapter and all the SCSI devices. I'm able to access and
modify the partition tables, but I'm unable to format the partition
for use. I'm able to mount my DOS partition onto my floppy-root fs.
and access the directory structure using ls. But if I try to i.e
cat config.sys I get the following messages:
scsi0: resetting for second half of retries
SCSI disk error: host 0 id 0 lun 0 returncode = 27070000
SCSI disk I/O error: dev 0801, sector 2269
:
:
Similar messages appear when I try to format the partition. I run
DOS (with an ASPI4DOS driver) and SCO UNIX 3.2.x without any problems
Can someone enlighten me please ??
Regards Carstein,--
