I am trying to use the setblk option of mt to set the block size for a DDS-3 (12/24 GB) tape drive, but it doesn't seem to be taking effect. I want to set the block size to 512, but it always shows 0 when I do a status on it. I am running

RedHat Linux (5.2) kernel 2.0.36
mt version 0.5
The machine is a Compaq Proliant 800 and it uses an NCR scsi controller.

Any suggestions?
