problem with DLT tape

Dear SCSI list,
I need to connect a Tandberg DLT 7000 tapedrive to a
normal pentium machine via an Advansys SCSI card.
Can anybody tell me hwo I have to configure the kernel
in order to be able to access the drive with commands
like tar and mt ? And which device should I chose? /dev/st0 ?
