No. I use 2.0.35 + the `g' version of the driver:

<4>scsi0 : ncr53c8xx - revision 3.0g
<4>scsi1 : ncr53c8xx - revision 3.0g

One board is a DC-390F (Ultra Wide SCSI, chip on board is SYM53c875),
the other is a NCR53c810 based card (Fast SCSI, non wide)

That's on my production machine. On the development machine I have
2.0.37pre8 + version i of the driver, no problem.

You can find the latest driver patch on ftp.tux.org, pub/roudier
(see the README.ncr53c8xx in drivers/scsi)
