... I installed a Ricoh MP6200S CDRW a few months ago, and am having
trouble with it. As a writer, it appears to handle CDRWs ok (I haven't
tried very many, but they've all worked) but fails much more often that it
succeeds on CDRs, claiming 'Media Error' (which may be the case, but I've
tried many many different brands, and don't believe they could all be so
unreliable).

Easier to debug, possibly, is that when I mount a data CD (my own or
commercially pressed), reading off it succeeds, but my logs fill up with
messages :-

Warning: Running low on SCSI DMA buffersWarning: Running low on SCSI DMA
buffersWarning: Running low on SCSI DMA buffers
etc etc, hundreds of times over.

Which suggests some kind of misconfiguration that may be a clue to the
writing problems. I suspect this is something irritatingly simple and
obvious, but it's my first experience with SCSI and I just don't think I'm
going to spot it, can anyone help ? I've read as many FAQs and FMs as I
can find, checked over the bios and adapter setups as far as I can see, I
don't think there are any conflicts over interrupts etc ...

linux kernel 2.0.36
I've tried aha1540C and aha1520B adapters, and 2 different cables
P1 133 on GA586ATV mo/bo

I would be most grateful if anybody could point me in a good direction,
I'm completely stuck on this.
