You cannot reasonably expect majordomo to open MIME attachments to find your
command. It's not majordomo that's at fault - it's your mail reader.
If you want to be able to exchange mail with software like majordomo (and
other similar mailing list managers), use a MUA (Mail User Agent) that does
not think it's oh so groovy to put everything (including your plantext
message) into attachments.
I send hearty bronx cheers in the general direction of Redmond many times a
day because M$ Outlook does this all the time...
