5.1.6 is *not* the latest version of the aic7xxx driver. That may be
the latest one on the ftp.dialnet.net site, but that site is not the
official site any longer (I moved jobs, it was the official site when I
was System Admin at DialNet, but now I'm at Red Hat and the official
site is ftp.redhat.com:/aic).

Not 5.1.3, 5.1.13. There is a *huge* difference between those two.
Also, note that I said in my original email that the 5.1.12 and above
drivers fix a problem with the aic7xxx driver and SMP on the 2.0.x
kernels.

Opinions expressed are my own, but
they should be everybody's.
