Hello:

I've got a pristine 2.0.36 kernel source tree, and I would like to patch
the aic7xxx driver to the latest 5.1.11 version. I found the patch at
ftp.varesearch.com:/pub/mirrors/aic7xxx-bsd/5.1.11/

Trouble is, I can't figure out how to perform the patch, and for some
reason instructions on how do so are not included in the read-me file.
:-(

I tried: patch -p1 < /root/aic7xxx-5.1.11-2.0.36.patch
          patch -p0 < /root/aic7xxx-5.1.11-2.0.36.patch

Neither of those worked, so I looked at the patch file and it had
"linux-2_0" shown (odd...thought it was a 2.0.36 patch!), so I made a
symlink from linux-2.0.36 to linux-2_0. I then tried:

          patch -p0 < /root/aic7xxx-5.1.11-2.0.36.patch

And ended up with tons of messages...some hunks succeeded and some failed.
I couldn't do a -reverse so I'm going to wipe out the kernel source tree
and reinstall it.

Any ideas as to how I can get this to work? Thanks...
