Hallo Gérard,
thanks for your quick response.

3.* 2.5f
r w r w (= read/write)
2.1.107 ? ? + + (3.* = 3.1f)
2.1.128 + - + +
...
2.1.131 + - + + (3.* = 3.1d)
2.1.132 - - - -
2.2.1 - - - -
("-" = io-error, "+"= works fine)
2.1.107 + 3.1f (from 2.2.1) gives:
: gt-priv [1] tar tvf /dev/rtm0
: tar: Cannot open /dev/rtm0: No such file or directory
: tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
???
"cat /proc/scsi/scsi" still says:
: ...
: Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00
: Vendor: HP Model: HP35480A Rev: 1009
: Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
: gt-priv [4] ll /dev/rmt0
: crw-rw-rw- 1 root disk 9, 0 Sep 28 1996 /dev/rmt0
(The kernel make log for 2.1.107+3.1f has no errors. A few harmless
warnings are about console, bttv and soundmodule.)
cu,
Gerhard.
