Hi all:
I have a Seagate SureStor 4/8GB tape drive (model # 28000N-RFT)
installed on a SCSI bus (AIC-7890) running RedHat 5.2 (latest release -
linux v 2.0.36).
It is recognized at boot and assigned to st0.
When I attempt to tar to it a 'la:
tar -cvf /dev/st0 /usr ...
I get the following error:
tar: Cannot write to /dev/st0: Input/output error
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
I know I am missing something obvious but I can't for the life of me
figure out what that is.
Any help, suggestions is greatly appreciated.
peace,
Eric
