The author of the driver is a good personal friend of mine. I've seen
quite some mails of _satisfied_ users to him. Especially the results of
people running heavy duty news servers are surprising. The speed is very
good and the other mentioned features are also working.

Good host adapters are not cheap. Here in Germany you have to pay about
600DM for a DPT2024. So I don't believe you'll get it much cheaper.
