I downloaded SANE last night and managed to scan 2 images before the
scanner/scsi driver totally flipped out (the driver went into a loop doing
resets as above, and the scanner stopped responding to commands). I also
played around with boot options and NCR8xx driver versions. I didn't get
any better results with NRC53c8xx=safe:y, so I installed
ncr53c8xx-3.1c-for-linux-2.0.36. It works no better. In fact, now,
sometimes it takes several minutes to get through the reset loops when I
boot.
I'm probably going to try again tonight with a Buslogic 946, and may order
a 930 to use as my scanner controller.
Is anyone using one of these successfuly under linux?
