Does anybody know the purpose of the DIP switches (4) on the bottom of the
Sony SDT-9000 4mm Dat DDS-3 tape drive? Sony suggests certain settings in
the manual for some OS and hardware platforms, but Intel Linux is not one
of them. I'm experiencing read errors on tapes that other tapes drives
read easily (same block size settings). I was curious if the DIP switches
might help this problem, but have no idea to the purpose of the switches.
Sony's tech support didn't know either.
Thanks
Chuck
