I have IDE/SCSI also. I set the boot sequence A,C,SCSI, now the IDE WILL be
the first disk seen, no matter what you do in this configuration. I have some
winbloze stuff on the ide, and some linux partitions, the root linux partition
is also on hda, I moved it there. But you don't have to, and it doesn't
matter if lilo complains, it doesn't hurt anything. Now here's my lilo.conf:
boot = /dev/hda
delay = 50
vga = normal
image = /vmlinuz
root = /dev/hda3
label = linux
read-only
other = /dev/hda1
label = win
table = /dev/hda
