Hi,
I have a HP 5P scanner and a SymbiosLogic 53C416 SCSI controller
which comes with the scanner.
Does anybody have chance to make this SCSI card recognized by linux?
My kernel version: 2.0.33..
Anyway..
I've tried the following:
-Since the card is pnp, I used pnpdump and isapnp to configure the card for
1-(IRQ=7 IO=0x350) and 2-(IRQ=12 and IO=0x200)
(have 2 tries with success. No problem at this point.
I've W95 on the same machine. It also uses 12,0x200 for accessing the card.)
-Compiled new kernel with module support for g_NCR5380 and NCR53c406a.
Tried the above confs. using these modules. (4 different tries)
On the tries using g_NCR5380 (Generic 53c400) module the machine freezes.
Tries with NCR53c406a module ended up with "device busy" message.
Providing IO-Base, IRQ, etc.., parameters to the modprobe does not make any
difference.
-Compiled kernel with native g_NCR5380 (Generic 53c400) support.
(NOT module support!) At the boot time it finds one scsi host and then
freezes.
Is there anyone who has luck with the card?
Thanks in advance.....Imran
