Since the latest SCSI-howto was last updated in 1996 (and still contains some very helpful information), I would love to get some more current, and especially more specific information about this particular driver. This may also be an initscripts or SysVinit issue, but: I just upgraded from the 2.0.32 kernel set to the 2.0.35-2, and now my tape drive is not automatically assigned to a device. The hard drives attached to the SCSI controller are fine, I got the SCSI Zip drive working (4th partition, and using a good Zip cartridge help), and just found out what I was doing wrong with my CD (I hope). But the tape drive always worked before, and now does not. I will worry about the scanner once I am sure everything else is working. All devices work fine in Win95, and are discovered correctly in the SCSI bus probe during aic7xxx initialization.
