Does this mean that the stock driver works with the 7890 and non-LVD
(U2) drives? In other words, those of us that have a 7890-based
controller and no Ultra2 drives are OK using the stock driver?

In my case, I own a new P2B-S, an Ultra/Wide drive and a Fast/Wide
drive. I've been waiting for the driver to mature before I move these
drives off my old Buslogic board to the onboard controller. Richard's
statement about the stock drive working with his Ultra drive makes me
think maybe I've been waiting for something I don't need (UW2 support).

(Although, Doug, I'll be happy to try the new driver as per your recent
request. However, if the stock driver works for me, then I'll probably
use it for day-to-day work until the new driver's a bit more mature.)

Jim
