I bought a Viking 4.5 SCA at Computer Geeks and it works flawlessly with
a convertor ($24) and an NCR860 (narrow ultra-scsi) at 20Mb/s. My
convertor doesn't have termination. I have a CD-Writer at the end of the
cable that provides termination. Never had any problems.

I agree. You definitely need a blower on the Viking.
