I have the feeling I already know the answer to this, but figured I'd
probe the audience here before giving up.

My question is: Can one extract Audio tracks of a DAT with a plain 'ol
4mm DAT drive?

In case it matters, I have:

Vendor: ARCHIVE Model: Python 27871-XXX Rev: 1219
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Most of what I've read so far seems to indicate audio DAT used a
different encoding that typical DAT backup drives don't have the
firmware to handle.

If someone can prove me wrong, I'll be very very happy. :)

TIA

Joe
