Is the CDR on your second SCSI adapter?
I have the same drive (RICOH MP-6200S), and get a similar error if it is
on the second controller. However my errors are based on which SCSI
adapter the drive is on.
I have 2 Buslogic controllers, and UltraWide for the 3 seagate cheetas in
my workstation, and a Ultra (BT-958 and BT-948 respectivly) for running
the CDR, CDROM, Jaz, Zip, and tape drive.
With the CDR on adapter 0 it works perfectly, with it on
controller 2 it detects file (with -inq), but after starting the burn it
dies with very similar errors.
I have swapped out controllers, changed IDs, tried 2.0.33 2.0.34
2.0.35, as well as many 2.1 serias kernels. Exect same thing every time.
