 dear people,

i have a scsi syquest syjet attached to a bus logic bt 958.

the syjet is recognized by the bt 958 and assigned to sdb

i used cfdisk to partition the syjet disk. the partition was automatically
assigned to linux native (83). i tried to change it to ext2 (type 85).

it would not change the type to

ext2. it left the type at linux native (83).

i also tried fdisk and received the same result.

     i have used dd if=/dev/zero of= /dev/sdb bs=512 count=1
because fdisk did not like the 1430 sectors.

when i type mount /dev/sdb1 ,the system states

can't find an ext2 file system on dev 08 11.

wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1 or to many
mounted file systems.

please give some suggestions. i remember others using and suggesting
     syjet drives.

      thank you,

     sandy
