Hello people.
We have been trying a linux on a cd rom server with 4 adaptec scsi
controllers. It's been running under ms-dos so far with little problems,
but recently dos has been limiting our services, so we are hoping to be
able to extend our system under linux. Now, there are available irq and
io ports and three of the four controllers get DMA 5, 6 and 7 but the forth
requests DMA 0 wich is not supported by the driver. We already tried
changing the source code of the driver, and re-compiling, to allocate
DMA 0 for our board but that resulted in "did_reset" messages from the
kernel. DMA 0 worked fine for this controller under dos, and
cat /proc/dma showes this channel to be free.
System info: RedHat 5.1 Manhattan kernel 2.0.34
