I too have been having similar troubles with my DPT-2044UW and an IBM
DCAS-34330W drive.

I wonder if it in an interaction with the IBM drives? I have installed
another DPT-2044UW for a client (same IBM drives) and neither of us
can reliably run the bus at 20Mhz.

I have tried various permutations of active termination and other voodoo
to no avail.

Any suggestions?
